you can't realistically have butler has an 8 seed! last year they were a 5 seed and had a worse record than this year. they have the most wins away from home of any team in the country, the second best record in college hoops, and a handful of marquee wins. they are the 8th ranked team in the country (soon to be 7th with the duke loss) and definitely deserve a higher seed than you have them listed as.

Last year Butler also actually beat a tournament team. Several, in fact. Tennessee, Gonzaga, Notre Dame, Indiana, Purdue, five wins over tournament teams last year.

The reason I have them so low is because they have no good wins and two bad losses. Overall, I consider their profile similar to that of Ohio St., who you can see is OUT of this seed list. Butler gets consideration for trying to schedule good teams, only to have those teams fall on their faces.

If they beat Drake today, they will have gained that outstanding win they need to be considered for a top seed.

Did you get rejected by Vanderbilt admissions or something? I'd love to hear how you justify them being an 8 seed with only 4 losses, all in the SEC on the road. Even though some of our early opponents looked better at the beginning of the season then they do now, we still beat Wake, USA, Austin Peay out of conference and don't have ANY bad losses. I know the SEC is down this year, but come on man that is ridiculous. They are going to be ranked between 13-16 in the coaches' poll this week, they deserve at least a 6 at this point

Nah, didn't apply to Vandy. I've heard its nice, but it just didn't have what I was looking for.

The problem with Vanderbilt is the same as Butler - they've got no wins over at-large quality teams, other than the home win over Wake. Realistically, they need to beat both Alabama and Mississippi St, plus either Tennessee or Arkansas if they want a seed higher than 8.

I guess if your only criteria for seeding is how many outstanding wins a team has then I might agree, except how do you justify the previous discussion you just had with the Butler fan? Who has Drake beat to get a 5 seed that you would consider an outstanding win? You can't count Butler because you just said that they would have to beat Drake in order to be anything better than an 8 seed....

Still think Drake is a 5 and Vanderbilt is an 8?
